As Melusinas à Margem do Rio by Melanie Pereira.
Winner of three awards in the last edition of Doclisboa, including Best Film in the Portuguese Competition, As Melusinas à Margem do Rio – a Red Desert production – returns to themes dear to Melanie Pereira: the “Melusinas” in the title are five women , born in Luxembourg to immigrant families, like the director, herself born and raised in Luxembourg, daughter of emigrants from Viseu.
To my parents (2018) and Nos Jardims do Barrocal (2019), are previous films by Melanie Pereira shown at vistacurta, before having gone through the 2021 edition to join the jury of the competitive sections. A luxury to conclude this year's vistacurta edition!
