Pedro Neves films out of necessity, against oblivion
“I'm never anxious about premieres, but I was at this one,” confesses Pedro Neves when remembering the moment of the first public screening of his long film Tarrafal, at the Rivoli. It was last Tuesday night, in front of many of the former inhabitants of the Porto neighborhood of São João de Deus, known as Tarrafal, who had told their life stories in front of the director's camera. “I knew what they had given me, which were very difficult stories.”

Água Fria - Cold Water in "Público" newspaper
Água Fria is almost 14 minutes of reflection on being Portuguese or, at least, "on a certain way of being Portuguese". It's a film "about disappointments, about memories, about sensations". The short film was selected for Clermont-Ferrand, in France, considered the most important International Short Film Festival in the world.
